Suited for Work offers free clothing, styling and presentation skills to women wanting to enter or return to the workforce; or needing good clothes to present themselves well at an important event.
Clients are normally referred by a referral agency - job training and placement agencies; or community based not for profit organisations that support disadvantaged women.
Many of Suited for Work’s clients will have been out of work for a long time. Some may never have had a job, while others may be coming out of prison or detox programs, or be recently arrived refugees.

- Providing a high quality outfit that is appropriate to you and to the position you are seeking.
- Offering a one on one styling session to ensure you look your best for the interview
- Together with our trained volunteer, talking through the interview process
- Providing several more outfits once you have got the job
Need to look good for an important event
Need to make a court appearance, attend a funeral, visit the doctor or have some other significant appointment and have nothing suitable to wear, we can help by providing an outfit and, if appropriate, some tips on styling and looking your best.
Referral process
All clients must be referred to Suited For Work by a job placement or similar agency, a charitable institution or community organisation , a government agency, Adult Migrant Education Service (AMES) or other group prepared to act formally as a referral agency for the client. Read our Client Brochure. The appointment must be made by a referral agency.

Supporting Referral Agencies
Suited for Work recognizes the work that referral agencies do in assisting disadvantaged women to gain control of their lives. We see ourselves as a complement to that work, providing quality appropriate clothing, assisting with presentation and helping women rebuild their self esteem.

Having a good quality outfit to attend a job interview, a court appearance, or a myriad of other important events can make a huge difference to a woman’s success.
Suited for Work will only work with clients who have come through a referral process. This is because we value the work that agencies provide, and aim to work with them in a collaborative manner.
How does it work?
The referring agency contacts Suited for Work and makes an appointment for the client by phoning 0449 856 079. They give the client the relevant documentation to bring to the appointment. This documentation consists of a Client Brochure (to be completed by the referral agency) and a client data form for either jobseeker or important event (to be completed by the client, possibly with assistance by the referral agency). Clients returning to employment are encouraged to see their appointment with SFW as their first professional engagement.
Suited for Work will provide the referral agency with a report of the outcomes of the interview, and will welcome any feedback that the referral agency wishes to provide feedback to us.
We are open for client appointments Tuesday 10.00 am - 1.00pm, Thursday 1.00pm - 3.30pm and Saturday 10am - 1.00pm
